Thank you to everyone who paddled, volunteers and cheered on the dragon boat races! It was a day packed full of fun and excitement.
We look forward to next year's event!

Volunteers for Dragon Boat Festival

Team Survivor Northwest and the Festival committee cordially invite you to volunteer before, during and after the event! Be on the committee! Do you need dragon boat experience? NO! Set up to take down the race site, direct traffic, work the sales and raffle tables, check in teams, help with lunch. . .the list is endless! Be a community liaison by helping to recruit new community teams. Work with suppliers, entertainers and vendors. Are you a photographer, an artist? Can you liaison with the media? Whatever you do to help, I can guarantee that you will have fun and meet some terrifically, wonderful people. Your enthusiasm will ensure these paddlers will not only return, but will also tell others about the festival, thus helping this fundraiser to grow! As the new teams have been told, “…Think of the bragging rights! Like the oft told fish stories, you can make your story about the race as big as you like when you tell friends, family and co-workers how you helped paddle your team to victory!” So help us all ensure they have plenty of stories to tell others!
By volunteering you can give back to Team Survivor Northwest by helping with one of our major fundraisers. Your expertise and/or plain old hard work will not only make this a very successful and talked-about event, but a day of fun and laughter for the community, healthcare providers and survivors. The funds we raise support our free programs and pay for professional trainers and indoor space usage.
See firsthand why dragonboating is the world's fastest growing team water sport. Work a while and then watch the races. We feed you lunch! Get a free t-shirt! Who knows, by the end of the day you just might want to try out the sport yourself!
